Synopsis

Daughters of the Tallest Tree is a documentary film anthology composed of five distinct works from Thailand, South Africa, Iraq, Northern Cyprus, and Ecuador, exploring feminist resistance and resilience across diverse cultural and political realities. Moving between intimate personal narratives and collective acts of defiance, the films reveal how individuals and communities confront systems of power, reclaim space, and create new paths. Each chapter unfolds within a different landscape, yet together they form a shared cinematic language shaped by solidarity, creativity, and courage that resonates across borders. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.
