Queer Solidarity Across Borders: DARAQ Crew

Saturday 19 Sept • 15:00-17:00
Queer Solidarity Across Borders: DARAQ Crew

About

A conversation and participatory workshop exploring Palestinian queer visibility, pinkwashing, solidarity and the connections between queer communities in Palestine and Cyprus. Through personal experiences, artistic practice and the work of DARAQ Crew, the session will look at how cultural spaces and international queer platforms can create meaningful forms of solidarity, while also asking what it means to represent Palestinian queer voices beyond the usual narratives of victimhood. This is a space for Palestinian queer voices to be seen and heard through their own experiences, artistic practices and communities. An opportunity to build a direct connection between queer communities in Palestine and Cyprus, and to turn solidarity into an actual space for exchange, presence and connection. ____ The session will include discussion, audience participation and selected material from the DARAQ documentary currently in development.
